Richmond, BC, Canada – October 24, 2018 – LUCID Vision Labs, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of unique and innovative industrial vision cameras, will be demonstrating Helios™, a new, compact 3D Time of Flight camera with superior depth precision at VISION 2018.
LUCID’s Helios ToF 3D camera has four 850nm VCSEL laser diodes and integrates Sony’s new DepthSense™ IMX556PLR back-illuminated ToF image sensor with high NIR sensitivity, 10μm pixel size and high modulation contrast ratio. The camera can produce depth data at 30 frames per second with 640×480 resolution over a Gigabit Ethernet interface. It is compliant with the GigE Vision and GeniCam 3D standard for ease of integration using LUCID’s Arena SDK or third-party machine vision software.
“Our new Helios ToF 3D camera shows the potential for Time of Flight technology in a variety of industrial applications, including robotic navigation, 3D inspection and logistic automation such as bin-picking and package dimensioning,” says Rod Barman, Founder and President at LUCID Vision Labs. “Improved depth accuracy and precision at an attractive price point will enable many 3D applications to run more efficiently while reducing overall system cost.” The first models of the Helios camera will be available by middle of 2019.
At the Industrial Vision Days forum organized by VDMA Machine Vision, LUCID will be giving a ToF presentation titled “Advanced Material Handling with New Sony DepthSense™ Time of Flight Technology” by Jenson Chang, Product Marketing, on November 7th at 4.30 pm. See a live demonstration of LUCID’s Helios ToF camera at VISION 2018 from Nov 6-8, 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany at booth 1C62.
